Dexamenes Hotel by K-Studio

"The brief was to maintain as much as possible for both sustainability reasons, but also out of respect of the history of the place."(Nikos Karaflos)

  • Resort Hotel, Greece

  • Conversion of an abandoned wine factory

  • Place of meaningful luxury focusing more on conscious well-being, reconnection to nature, and sustainability.

  • Industrial scale building contrast with the nearby idyllic beach

  • The former 20 tanks are now created into hotel rooms

  • K-studio converted the tanks into ensuite bedrooms, with the external rows overlooking the beach and the internal rows facing a central courtyard.

  • Reused or upcycled materials for the former wine factory were used in the new design

  • Guest are more conscious than ever before

  • Desperate for extraordinary feelings and new places and new culture

A beautiful redesign that highlights sustainability, which is something I need to consider in my project as it goes hand in hand with wellbeing. It would also be something my target demographic would be conscious of.

It's also good to note the changes in the hospitality as guest strive for meaningful luxury and are "more conscious than ever before" (Dexamenes Seaside Hotel CEO Karaflos)
